dream of leaving home with your own wings

dream of changing the world with your own hands

open your eyes in the morning will be another

loves you will take over and drive your sails

Justification

The Venice Biennial of Bogotá is, because it is of great importance through artistic expression develop educational processes and from community. Expected to provide the same neighborhood symbolic-cultural spaces, where they can develop the potential cultural expressions and practices that have been simmering inside. Basic Objective

The BVB seeks to explore ways of approaching art and the Venice neighborhood of Bogotá, with articulated learning strategies within the context of the community. When we speak of education in the context of the Biennale, is understood as a space where they circulate and confront different knowledge about art, their role and their audiences. The Biennial aims to support the search for the community to transform their lifestyles, exploring new elements to her interpretation of everyday life, new standards for reading and experience their relationship with urban space, the neighborhood and themselves.

This Biennale combines the efforts that have been made from different social sectors, public, professionals and academics to mobilize new concepts and practices of community. For artists this means a different commitment to the results of his work, since the proposed biennial search for "other" solutions, conditions and fields of action for their projects in a unique setting: the neighborhood. The call

BVB_7 The call is directed to all those artists or foreigners of any age or training to perform object-based projects, not object-based, processual, relational, etc. from its approach to the Venice area and its inhabitants.

BVB for 15 years and has established emergency alternating dynamic compared to the usual paradigms in system-space-public work, in parallel to the current development of contemporary artistic practices in the city of Bogotá and in the country.

The theme for
BVB_7
This year the Biennial has recourse to a common social practice in Latin America, the celebration of 15 year-old woman, a celebration that will serve as metaphor to collect a series of imaginative, dynamic and content that will allow us to have a cross look, not only the neighborhood and the art being made today in our city but also allow us to see ourselves. Thus, in BVB_7 artists or groups of artists, researchers, volunteers etc. who generate synergy and dynamic co-construction between an exhibition of contemporary art and popular tradition, which will bring together 15 teenagers from the neighborhood and the town of Venice Tunjuelito, who met her 15 years concurrently with the Venice Biennial of Bogotá. The proposed protocol should be derived from the organization of this celebrations such as the serenade, the change of shoes, waltz, etc. (See below for protocol steps Classic)

Crawl In view of this kind of celebrations in Latin America, has seen the similarity between this type of celebration in Mexico and Colombia. These beliefs and social practices that still show multiple origins, because of this and other reasons, has determined that this year the guest of honor at the Venice Biennial of Bogotá is Mexico.

the Venice Biennale in Mexico

The Venice Biennial of Bogotá was invited to participate in the Humanitas Festival 2010 organized by the Ministry of Culture Oaxaca State and conduct an artist residency in Oaxaca alternative space called The Tannery, where he conducted an interesting experiment in which a group of Mexican artists led by Demian Flores, director of space and its coordinator Monica Villegas , managed to organize the work of these artists around the celebration of 15 years young Jasmine Ana Jalatlaco resident of the ward where the event took place.

The starting point of this practice is the search and display the points in common between the two cultures by holding a fifteenth birthday party where they make the symbolic step into womanhood and where "debuts" the girl who will soon come to get involved with different social dynamics.

The celebration of the fifteenth year is both a double metaphor, as the Venice Biennial of Bogotá was created in 1995 and this year celebrates its 15th anniversary.
